Located in Chauncey and Doanville, Ohio, the Baileys will offer 88 miles of trails for every level of rider. Phase 3 construction wrapped up in Fall 2021 with 31 total miles now on the ground. The Baileys is built for all skill levels of cyclists, hikers, runners, adaptive athletes, hunters, and nature enthusiasts.
The nearly 30 miles of trails at Sells Park and Strouds Run State Park in Athens, Ohio are known for being twisty and tight, with moderate to steep hills and technical features including small rock gardens, roots, logovers and switchbacks.
A natural paradise, the 2,983-acre Lake Hope State Park lies in the valley of Big Sandy Run. It is a rugged, heavily forested region traversed by steep gorges and narrow ridges. The sandy base below the top soil combined with mountain biker built trails aids in the efficient drainage of 29 miles of the trails.
The Moonville Rail Trail is a 16-mile trail that utilizes the former Marietta and Cincinnati Railroad that began service in the 1850s. Currently, 8 miles of ballast-surfaced trail, perfect for horses or walkers and hikers, are available from Zaleski to Mineral.
The Athens-Belpre Rail-Trail is a new trailway now being developed in southeast Ohio. It will link Athens, Ohio, in Athens County, with Belpre, Ohio, in Washington County. It will link on the west with the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway.
The Broughton Nature Area is maintained for public use.The Park encompasses more than 500 wooded acres. It is an educational area with several trails, two ponds, a natural stream, and a waterfall. It is just north of Marietta, Ohio.
Chestnut Ridge mountain bike trail is over nine miles long and is a stacked loop system, the inner loop is the beginner/intermediate trail and the outer loop is the advanced trail. You should expect steep climbs, most notably a switchback climb up to the Apple Barn, followed by several flowy descents as you ride along the heavily wooded trail.
Appalachia Outdoor Adventures trail system at the Wilds consists of around 15 miles of great Ohio Singletrack to satisfy just about any rider. Trails are marked with trail signs and white numbered poles that correlate with numbered circles on the map, to help keep you headed in the right direction.
